IIP-48: CIOTX – A Unified Cross-Chain Token Standard for the IoTeX Network

Replace all IOTX-E holding in every wallet on ETH with CIOTX version.

You think the team has a magic admin command to reach into every private wallet on Ethereum and swap tokens?

That’s called centralization. It’s the very thing we’re building against. No one is supposed to be able to touch your wallet. That’s the whole point.

This is why it’s a migration, not a hostile takeover of user funds. You build the bridges and create the incentives, you don’t force the swap. Anything else would be a bigger scam than the problem we’re trying to solve.

That’s what i expect to hear. That’s why i say IIP48 is just SCAM proposal. It’s only on paper and can’t be implemented. In proposal team said it will take 6 months to implement, but I believe it is never end.

Initial i uncderstand all iotx token is ERC-20(IOTX-E) and then IOTX team migrate to IOTX Native and has 1B left in IOTX-E. At that time how u migrate to Native? Why this time cannot change all remaining IOTX-E to Native using the same method?

Fair question. The game changed.

Back then, the mission was simple: get everyone to move from a temporary apartment (Ethereum) into the new skyscraper we just built (IoTeX mainnet). The original migration service, Tube, was a one-way moving truck for that specific job. It was a point A-to-B solution.

Now, the goal isn’t to just get everyone into one building. It’s to make IOTX a universal key that works across the entire city—Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Base, you name it. We’re not just building a one-way bridge; we’re building a multi-chain teleportation network.

The old method can’t be used because it was designed to solve a much simpler problem. The current plan requires rewriting the playbook with every major exchange and bridge in the ecosystem. It’s the difference between building a bridge and building an entire interstate highway system.
