Hi all. I worked for IoTeX just over two years.
My opinion of IoTeX and its team is that it is one of the greatest blockchain companies I have worked with and come across in my seven years in the space.
Their technology is cutting edge and they undoubtedly lead the DePIN sector in creating developer tools.
However, I am deeply concerned with their empathy towards the community and I say that because as an employee they showed me no will to help with an issue I faced, which was that I was unable to withdraw my 4.67 million IOTX tokens on 30 October 2023 because they had failed to update their network version on Ledger from 2.4 to 2.5. In fact, they neglected the update for over a year.
When I contacted my supervisors for help with the tech issue they ignored or refused to share the right guidance for me to recover access to my assets. The solution was simple but I had no clue of it, but IoTeX for sure did, which is to simply generate a new wallet with the affect wallet’s seed phrase.
That simple!
Why did they not share that solution with me? My conclusion is that they did not care enough about me as an employee, which makes me wonder exactly how much they care about community members.
Here is my story by Coindesk. It has a huge inaccuracy because I did not contact Ledger customer support. I logically and obviously contacted my employers for help accessing my funds in the IoTeX-engraved Ledger wallet.
