Pollen DeFi
Project Type
Community Driven Cross Chain Asset Management
Proposal Description
Pollen DeFi is the future of asset management. Unlike traditional asset management, where asset managers charge investors an annual fee to actively manage clients ‘ portfolios and, as such, you pay even when your investment loses money, Pollen doesn’t need to do so. Unlike passive indexes where an S&P 500, FTSE 100 or similar is just copied, Pollen allows investors to define the portfolio they want to see actively managed (e.g. Metaverse, GameFi, DeFi) and invest by buying one pool token.
Pollen is the world’s first truly decentralized asset manager with many DeFi yield features. Unlike other asset management solutions, Pollen will soon support tokens from any chain, (e.g. Ethereum ERC20, Solana, Harmony, IoTex, Polkadot, RSK, BSC, Polygon) and be able to provide extra yield to investors while keeping gas fees low.
We are actively addressing a serious problem competing DeFi indexes have in which you either run an index on Ethereum, and pay a lot, or you are restricted to only a small set of chain-specific tokens. On Pollen, you’ll get all tokens, combined with inexpensive gas fees, to set up and manage asset pools. Not only that, but we are adding additional yield generation to top it off!
Pollen’s token PLN has launched and we are currently running a live Beta on Avalanche while sourcing partners and funding to create vaults and rebalancers for our cross-chain strategy. In a short time, we’ve reached over 6,000 wallets and we are continuing to grow.
While the Pollen DAO currently runs on one chain, multiple communities can deploy their own Asset Pool DAO. These Asset Pools take all the signals from the “Pollenators” (Our community of investors) and “Delegators” (our community of investors who delegate PLN to Pollenators) as well as their reputation and use this data to create market-beating portfolios. Unlike Pollenators, who rebalance virtual portfolios, the asset pools buy actual assets and hold them.
This is why we want to support as many chains and DeFi solutions as possible because the
pool assets are stored in what we call vaults. Vaults are like custodians who hold on to the
assets either for a specific asset pool or for many of them. A “warm” vault is just holding
assets and not doing anything with them, similar to a warm wallet. A “yield-generating” vault
is using the assets to generate extra yield. Yield strategies can be no/low-risk like staking or
over-collateralized lending or can be higher risk like liquidity providers for insurance. Vaults
could also use insurance or support specific tokens like synthetics, NFTs, eco-tokens,…
All of Pollen’s code is being open-sourced. This includes the Vault interface as well as a
base Solidity implementation. We are now working with many chains and DeFi solutions to
create specific vaults. Any investor buying the pool token with stablecoins, or similar, will see
their investment being bridged to different vaults where chain-specific assets are obtained. If
the asset pool supports it, they can use a combination of warm, insured, yield-generating
and other types of vaults.
We are currently working with some of the biggest investor clubs in the world around
creating community-driven asset pools. As soon as they start piling in investment, you want
your vault to be ready to hold their assets because this will bring you TVL. Our proposal is to create an IoTex vault using a team of developers experienced in building within the IoTex ecosystem.
Milestones
- Milestone 1:
- Duration: 4 weeks
Pollen to identify development resources in the IoTex ecosystem to facilitate building the vault and provide necessary information and documentation to begin development. - Milestone 2:
Duration: 8-12 weeks
Vault development and testing.
