Anyone else notice that Coinbase just changed the name for IoTex to include ERC-20. I guess that was their short term solution. Hopefully it hints at them adding native support soon! Ehh…A guy can hope, right!
They are doing that because they are falling under pressure from a lot of people who transferred native coins into their exchange and lost their coins. I’m one of them. So now we are trying to get them to retrieve them or to release the private keys so that we can do it ourselves.
After much research, I believe the only way that we can all recuperate our IoTex (IOTX) coins will be if and when Coinbase begins support of the Navitve version (Iotx network), then we will be able to trade or transfer, but until then I don’t see anyway to get it done.
This only tells us that the receiving address can be written in two languages web.3 or ERC20 and native IOTX. That’s the reason why you see an IOTX address when you go to the ioTex explorer next to the ERC20 address that Coinbase gives you. But this does help us because what this means is that both addresses are the same just written in two different languages. Which means that Coinbase did receive the coins and they are just neglecting to help us get them back.
It’s not only Coinbase’s problem.
The IOTEX project team should have kept a line of communication between us and Coinbase active.
They should represent us with pushing our problem to Coinbase in a more collective way, since we have obviously supported their project with our money.
After all this is the damn support section of their forum and the most heavily answered/viewed topic in this section.
The only thing I am seeing from the dev team is ignorance and passing the problem to us not knowing or searching every single blockchain detail.
I guess people who invest in Tesla stocks should know every technical detail of the company, technology or their products.
Right?
Coinbase and Iotex need to work ob getting the native Iotex supported, and stop with the nonsense. I know many people are going the route of retaining a lawyer. I will as well, and I suggest everyone even the smallest investors do the same!
If anyone knows of a group going against these two entities please connect with anyone else inquiring on this, including me!
If nothing is done, they need to be liable. Like most have stated, we made the mistake of doing the transfer, but we should not have to be blockchain experts to make trades that should have been native to native before it was ever released to Coinbase.
People don’t give up. They will win if we don’t keep up the pressure. Go post on IOTX, Crypto.com and Coinbase owners personal social accounts. If anyone can write an article an get it published. I will write one if there’s places to post or publish that IOTX stole our money and is currently laughing at us. It has caused lots of frustration and turmoil for many people. Don’t give up and post about it everywhere we can.
Sickening how much they have stole from us. I saw IOTX owner bragging about giving away NFT’s today. Bought with our hard earned cash no doubt. Thieves and liars. I’ve been patient but we need to kick this up a notch or they will just ignores us till we get tired of trying to get our stolen money back. Start posting negative about IOTX and Coinbase everywhere you possibly can get it out. Brian Armstrong is a thief. Straight up.
